ZANJERO/CABELA’S INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS (CMAR)


Project Owner: City of Glendale

JBCI was the Construction Manager at Risk. This was a fast track, 10-month design/construction schedule. Construction began at 30% plans to assure completion prior to the Cardinals’ inaugural game. Work scope included 1-1/2 miles of street construction segments on Glendale Ave., 91st Ave., and interior streets including 60,000 CY mass excavation, 15,000 tons of asphalt, installation of 16,000 LF of water, sewer and storm drain, utilization of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) on over 1,000 LF of existing 12” sewer line, valve installation and replacement, 100,000 SF of decorative sidewalk, traffic signals at 4 intersections, 2 each 250-ft long 8’ x 4’ double barrel box culverts, installation of fire hydrants and fire lines, over $2M in landscaping and 2 entrance monuments with water features. Completed 12/2007.

GILBERT ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (GC)


Project Owner: Maricopa Department of Transportation

JBCI was the General Contractor. Work scope consisted of 3 miles of roadway improvements including 300,000 CY of excavation to embankment, installation of 18” to 66” storm drain, installation of 6” and 8” water mains, valve installation and replacement, installation of water service taps, removal of existing fire hydrants and installation of fire hydrants and fire lines, removal of existing sound wall, curb and gutter, sidewalk, landscaping, street lights and signals, paving, and structural concrete. Completed 06/2006.

GLENDALE PARK & RIDE (GC)


Project Owner: City of Glendale Municipal Complex

JBCI was the General Contractor. Work scope consisted of a Park and Ride facility with 388 parking spaces with overflow parking and a 746 SF building including a restroom, security room, janitor room and storage room. The facility included covered public platforms, parking canopies, public walkway canopies, an 11,000 SF bus platform with covered passenger loading platform, canopy and walkway lighting. Completed 03/2008.

DEER VALLEY AIRPORT SOUTH RAMP RECONSTRUCTION (DB)


Project Owner: City of Phoenix Aviation Department

JBCI is the Design Builder providing preconstruction services, cost estimates, value engineering, constructability reviews, design document reviews, DBE goals program, GMP proposals, project scheduling and sequencing based on logistics and multiple funding sources, subcontractor and supplier solicitation and selection, construction management plan and project coordination meetings. Design is 100% complete; construction is approximately 60% complete and on hold until additional funding is obtained. Work scope consists of phased demolition, regrading and reconstruction of 3,000,000 SF of asphalt paving, phasing plan for construction work based on owner priorities and funding availability, replacement of valley gutter, concrete helipads, manhole adjustments, water valve control, quality assurance/quality control and surveying. The section varied from 2- to 3-inch overlay sections to 5 inches of asphalt on 9 inches of ABC complete reconstruction.

LAKE PLEASANT PARKWAY SOUND WALL (CMAR)


Project Owner: City of Peoria

JBCI was the Construction Manager at Risk. Work scope included removal of 3300 LF of existing rear property wall and replaced with 10’ to 15’-high sound wall along 33 residences. Other items of work included grading of greenbelt, placement of decomposed granite, and additional courses of block and reinforcement of footer along 600 LF of residential rear block wall. Completed 09/2008.

MARYLAND AVENUE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE (GC)


Project Owner: City of Phoenix

JBCI was the General Contractor. The project was a 270,000-lb steel truss pedestrian bridge at I-17 and Maryland Avenue consisting of a 135-ft span and a 115-ft span. The structure is 27 feet tall. Work included decorative rail, steel ramps, concrete abutments, piers, landscaping and artwork relief designs integrated into the walls. Completed 06/2005.
