Banicki successfully met materials specification challenges to deliver a unique and cost effective monument signage by providing a collaborative solution utilizing Design-Build delivery. In a collaborative effort, Banicki and Kimley-Horn staff provided materials mockups and design iterations based on input and feedback from County, Park, end-users and other stakeholders. The Banicki team utilized an inhouse constructability review team to develop a reflectorized signage materials solution which outperformed specifications and eliminated the cost, time and infrastructure needed for solar signage illumination. During construction, the Banicki team coordinated with other construction efforts ongoing and adjacent to the project site, ensuring access, coordination and on time delivery. The team collaborated with the County during the design and preconstruction phases of the project as well as with ADOT to mitigate schedule impacts that were the result of late ADOT right-of-way permit issuance. Banicki was able to decrease the overall project costs by performing extensive research into locally available materials and products, then presenting a multitude of options to the County along with cost estimates.
