Date Completed

August 2015

The job was for the City of Peoria at the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Mariners Way. The scope of work on this particular project included a HAWK Crossing Signal, signage, shade structure, fiber optic, sidewalk curb and gutter ADA ramps, concrete scuppers, kiosk machines, lighted pylon signs and foundations, and street light removals. During this project Banicki had to field adjust the sidewalk grades to preserve existing vegetation while maintaining ADA compliance. The approved plan set grades did not work. Banicki worked with the City to determine the new set grades to aid in successfully completing the project. Due to the efforts, Banicki was able to deliver the project under budget, saving $122,791 for the City and also delivering on time.
With spring training in the near future, the City was concerned about possible traffic delays and safety in the intersection during construction. Banicki was able to expedite the sidewalk placement, hold on the project and then come back in and complete the project prior to the 4th of July.
