Project scope included the installation of a steel truss pedestrian bridge over Wet Beaver Creek. The bridge is located adjacent to and immediately downstream of the existing vehicular bridge over the creek and is the primary route for tourist traffic accessing Lake Montezuma. Incidental work included the purchase and installation of a prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge, casting a concrete bridge deck, the construction of abutments and bearing pads, concrete approach walkways that include hand rails and concrete masonry retaining walls and creek bank protection. The Banicki team worked directly with Yavaipai County to determine best practices for traffic control and construction phasing as well as adjustments to the bridge installation schedule which allowed for additional overnight work that mitigated impacts to traffic.
