ADOT, Maricopa County Flood Control, MCDOT, the City of Peoria, and Banicki all came together with one common end goal and worked together throughout the project to make sure all communication was mainstreamed and all stakeholders were provided with a quality end product. The New River Bridge Project included the removal and replacement of pin and hanger assemblies on the New River Bridge at US 60 and SR 101 in Peoria, Arizona. This project included a full westbound closure of the US 60 from 10 p.m. on Friday until 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Additionally, shoring towers were installed and Banicki jacked the bridge up to install the new plates and pins while simultaneously working on removing and replacing an existing deck joint that had failed. The deck joint was poured using a high early concrete mix that cured in 13 hours. According to the plan documents, Banicki was allowed 2 weekend closures to complete the work, however, only one weekend was required to achieve final completion.
