DESCRIPTION
Delivered for the City of Buckeye, this project reconstructed and realigned the southern taxiways and apron at Buckeye Municipal Airport (BXK) to enhance operational safety and drainage performance. The work included removal and replacement of approximately 12,000 SY of asphaltic concrete pavement, installation of a new storm drain systems, and upgrades to the airport’s electrical infrastructure.
Banicki installed new LED taxiway edge lighting, airfield guidance signage, and underground conduit systems, along with electrical vault improvements featuring a new constant current regulator (CCR) to support modernized lighting controls.
Work was completed within an active airfield environment, requiring close coordination with airport operations and the City’s electrical division to maintain safe airside access throughout construction. Despite long-lead electrical components, Banicki managed schedule sequencing effectively and achieved substantial completion ahead of winter weather conditions.
