DESCRIPTION
This airfield rehabilitation project reconstructed the north and south runway blast pads at Phoenix Deer Valley Airport (DVT) to restore structural performance and improve airfield safety. Work included full-depth pavement removal, subgrade stabilization with lime treatment, crushed aggregate base, and FAA P-401 asphalt surface course.
Banicki also installed new LED runway threshold lights, isolation transformers, and electrical conductors, along with temporary lighting to maintain continuous airfield operations. Coordination with airport operations and Stantec allowed the project to progress safely through night work and phased closures on both runways. Despite weather delays, Banicki delivered the final pavement markings and lighting installations ahead of the FAA-mandated operational deadline.
