Complete bridge deck replacement of a steel plate girder bridge located on Hermosa Drive in Holbrook, Arizona. Hermosa Drive was a two-lane bridge that spanned both directions of I-40. The new bridge deck was 322’ long by 31’-2” wide. The project was constructed in two phases with temporary traffic signals, maintaining a single lane of traffic across the bridge throughout construction.
Further structural scope included new 38” bridge barrier, barrier to guardrail transitions, approach slabs, expansion joints, methacrylate bridge seal, slope paving, structural concrete repairs, structural steel retrofitting, bearing stiffeners, lead abatement, and steel painting.
Civil scope included asphalt removal by milling, new AC pavement section, clearing and grubbing, embankment slope buildups, guardrail, guardrail transitions, and seeding.
