Performed under our Valley Metro JOC, this task order included the installation of a premanufactured building and shade canopy structure to accommodate the front gate security guards at Valley Metro’s Operations and Maintenance Center (OMC).

Project scope included removing existing asphalt pavement, fence removal, raised concrete medians, asphalt paving, crack sealing, guard house building installation, and canopy installation. Further project scope included new water, sewer, and electrical utilities, as well as upgraded access control equipment for the new guard house structure.

VALUE ENGINEERING

In partnership with Valley Metro’s project management, the team identified an inconsistency with the proposed guardhouse median and the existing infrastructure. Banicki developed an alternative design for the location / alignment of the guard house median that would not require additional removals and modifications, saving time and preserving Valley Metro’s budget.
