This high-profile project at the Phoenix Zoo included pavement preservation and rehabilitation of existing parking lots A, B, and C as well as the full reconstruction of the bus route, Perimeter Drive, and Entry Drive. The project featured a broad range of pavement services including sustainable pavement preservation by means of PETROMAT® pavement fabric and fiber reinforced asphalt pavement, crack seal, Type II slurry seal, mill and overlay, and new full depth asphalt.

The bus route and Perimeter Drive included full depth roadway reconstruction to strengthen the pavement section for extended bus traffic. The reconstruction included full depth asphalt removal, over excavation, ABC placement, and a new asphalt pavement section. Parking Lots A and B included sustainable pavement preservation by means of PETROMAT® pavement fabric and fiber reinforced asphalt pavement. Parking Lot C was crack and slurry sealed.

Further scope included ADA ramps; decorative colored sidewalk; curb and gutter; curb stops; eco-friendly landscaping; bio-swales; permeable paver islands; new parking lot and street lighting; striping; and signage.
