Location

Gilbert, Arizona

Cost

$227K

Date Completed

This accelerated project included adding a new second lane to southbound Power Road between Nunneley Road and Warner Road in the rapidly expanding town of Gilbert. This project had an Owner assigned duration of 60 calendar days with Banicki completing all construction in only 30 calendar days. The new pavement section for the additional lane included 10” of ABC and two 3” lifts of MAG ¾” Superpave AC.

Further project scope included 9,920 SY of Type II slurry seal; excavation for the new pavement section; subgrade preparation; ABC placement; finish grading; full depth paving; mill and overlay; manhole adjustments; striping; raised pavement markers; and roadway signage.

Banicki Benefit: No plans were provided for this time sensitive project, thus MCDOT leaned heavily on Banicki’s knowledge and experience to develop the new pavement section and traffic control plans during a 2-week preconstruction window. Banicki value engineered a new structural pavement section based on similar road widenings we had performed throughout the Valley, ensuring the full scope of this project was captured under MCDOT’s established budget.
