In a joint venture with Ralph L. Wadsworth, Banicki was awarded the SR24 project that included the construction of two large flyover bridge structures totaling over 6,000 linear feet as well as two box-beam post-tensioned bridges, two large AASHTO girder bridges, twelve retaining walls, four box culverts and one bridge widening. The project ultimately tied SR24 into the existing SR202. The scope of work also included the importing of approximately 1.2 million cubic yards of soil, over 1 million cubic yards of excavation, paving of over 170,000 square yards of PCCP, 10,000 tons of hot mix asphalt paving, and storm drainage installation. This project was highly segmentalized and required very detailed sequencing and phasing plans to best maintain budget, schedule, and minimize interruptions to traffic flow on existing roadways. Banicki also effectively and successfully managed 65 independent subcontractors throughout the life of the project.
