DESCRIPTION
This project improved Taxiway A4 at Scottsdale Airport (SDL) through a full taxiway reconstruction to restore long-term structural integrity. Banicki removed the taxiway, corrected unsuitable subgrade, constructed crushed aggregate slope protection rock (CASPR), .and constructed a new FAA pavement section. All work was completed under a fast-tracked schedule within a fully operational airfield, with night work required to maintain airside operations and minimize disruptions.
SCOPE
- 2,430 SY of full-depth asphalt pavement removal and milling
- 2,430 SY subgrade preparation and compaction
- 490 SY of unsuitable subgrade repair
- 480 SY of salvaged crushed aggregate slope protection rock (CASPR)
- 599 TN of FAA P-401 asphalt surface course with 1 TN tack coat
- 15 EA airfield light fixtures temporarily removed and reinstalled
- 1,710 SF Type I yellow pavement markings with reflective media
- 265 SF Type III yellow pavement markings with reflective media
- 2,240 SF black mask pavement markings
- 680 SF white reflective pavement markings
