DESCRIPTION
Located at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the Utility Vault Upgrades and Infield Paving CMAR included over 100,000 square yards of subgrade preparation and the placement of more than 12,800 tons of asphalt concrete across four infield zones near Terminal 4. Banicki’s scope included mass grading, fine grading, excavation, paving, sign bases, and electrical utility vaults upgrades to support expanded infield operations and future airfield development.
Work was completed under the CMAR delivery method and involved tight coordination with the City of Phoenix Aviation Department to maintain airfield safety and minimize operational impacts within an active airside environment. The team managed multiple work zones and staging areas within the airside footprint while adhering to strict FAA safety protocols and access constraints. Banicki delivered the project ahead of schedule and with zero impact on ongoing airport operations.
