This project completely transformed the busy Verrado Way and Van Buren Street intersection, adding four new lanes to Verrado Way and two new lanes to Van Buren Street. Banicki overhauled the busy three-way junction from a stop sign controlled intersection to a fully signalized intersection and performed significant roadway and civil upgrades.
Further project scope included precast drainage structures, RGRCP drainage pipe, CIP headwalls, grouted riprap, water and sewer adjustments, ADA ramps, sidewalk, curb and gutter, signalized pedestrian crossings, ITS systems, video and radar detection systems, street lights, internally illuminated street signs, safety railing, guardrail, raised pavement markers, and striping.
