PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involved the removal and reconstruction of existing Taxilanes between and surrounding general aviation hangars in the Westplex area of Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. Existing asphalt pavement in these areas was in poor condition and required expensive annual maintenance in order to remain usable. Project scope included 48,800 SY of pavement removal; 39,475 SY of subgrade preparation; 7,100 CY of ABC; 11,000 tons of AC pavement; and drainage improvements.

During preconstruction, Banicki worked closely with the City of Flagstaff and Design Team Kimley-Horn to provide innovative ideas in phasing and construction sequencing to reduce project cost and overall duration. The project delivery included FAA documentation compliance, detailed construction phasing, public outreach, and daily ingress / egress management to maintain airport operations. This is another successful CMAR project that Banicki delivered for the City of Flagstaff.
