Westplex Taxilane Reconstruction

City of Flagstaff

Flagstaff, Arizona

Date Completed

October 2014

This $4.1M project consisted of removal and reconstruction of existing taxilanes between and surrounding general aviation hangars in the Westplex area of Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. Existing asphalt pavements in these areas were in poor condition and required expensive annual maintenance in order to remain usable. The work consisted of 48,800 square yards of pavement removal, 39,475 square yards of subgrade preparation, placement of 7,100 cubic yards of aggregate base course, 11,000 tons of hot mix asphalt pavement, drainage improvements, pavement markings and other related work. During the preconstruction phase, the Banicki Team worked with the City and Designer to provide innovative ideas in phasing and construction sequencing to reduce project cost and overall duration. This is another successful CMAR project that Banicki has delivered for the City of Flagstaff.
