Client

Location

Gila County, Arizona

Cost

$421K

Date Completed

December 2022

Performed for Gila County through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the Arizona Department of Administration, this project featured channel rehabilitation of Bloody Tanks Wash that had filled with debris following the unprecedented flooding of 2021 that transpired after the Telegraph and Mescal Fires in the Tonto National Forest.

Project scope included 6,500 CY of debris haul off (sediment, trees, vegetation) that had settled in the Bloody Tanks Wash during the 2021 flooding. Banicki also regraded and rehabilitated the Bloody Tanks Wash bottom. All work was performed around existing overhead powerlines within the wash bottom. The work area of the channel was tightly located behind private residences, thus the only access to the channel was through a box culvert on ADOT right of way. Banicki worked directly with ADOT to develop a SWPPP and obtain approval to utilize their right of way for access to the construction site. Low-profile equipment was also utilized to enter the work area through ADOT’s box culvert.
