CMAR: BEALE STREET STREETSCAPE REVITALIZATION WINS APWA AZ PROJECT OF THE YEAR!
July 31, 2025 – We’re proud to share that the CMAR: Beale Street Streetscape Revitalization project was named an APWA Arizona Project of the Year in the SCRC: Transportation category!
Presented last week at the 2025 APWA Arizona Statewide Conference, the project was recognized for its extensive value engineering and collaborative delivery. With a hard budget cap of $7.15 million, Banicki partnered with WSP and the City of Kingman to reduce the GMP by 41% from the 60% design milestone, implementing 38 value engineering initiatives and eliminating 24 major utility conflicts. In the end, only three overhead UniSource power poles and one minor sewer adjustment were required, allowing the $7.25M reconstruction of downtown sidewalks, intersections, and pavement—complete with accessibility upgrades, landscaping, and Route 66–themed features—to be delivered with minimal business disruption and strong community support.
